With Your past support and sponsorship from Wal-Mart, three truck loads of goods have been delivered from One Nation Walking Together to Pine Ridge.
A joyful part of what "Sacred To Many People" creates is stories and the tale of the OLC semi-trailer is nothing short of a fairy tale. Our truckoad of supplies arrived late Thursday night and was unloaded on (Good) Friday into a building which had been abandoned -- there was no other location available for the volume of goods. Included were 8 bicycles. Mary Tobacco, Athletic Director, and the basketball teams, organized races to determine who would take a bike home. Distribution became a community event and a communtiy center now exists in that building!!!
However, it is difficult to be happy about riding a bike on an empty stomach. And creating an opportunity for healthy food choices was part of the Tales of the Tower Road Show. We participated in the Feinstein Foundation Fight Against Hunger this year. With Your generosity we raised $4,520.86 !!!!!! This will be matched by Shawn Allan Feinstein and will go towards providing food for folks on Pine Ridge Reservation.
Sacred to Many People gathers funds and disburses supplies that support the efforts residents of Pine Ridge Reservation are making -- every day -- to improve the life they've been given. "EVERYDAY" is a large part of what we have been blessed to share with people. We meet sooooo many people who live in dignity, strive for beauty and walk, everyday, into a future which has not forgotten the past. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to experience a small part of the power of Sioux life and wish to see it thrive in harmony with all of us who share this land.
